Christian Kane's latest project - which hit theaters August 24, 2001 - is Summer Catch. The cast is full of talented hotties and looks like a sure-fire hit. In the continuation of our exclusive interview with Christian, he gave Kidzworld the scoop on Catch, his other roles and so much more.

Summer Catch is about a Cape Cod based league of baseball players trying for their big shot. So what's the first thing you do when you snag a role in a romantic comedy like this? You take to the field.

"We were down there a month early and while Freddie was filming all his romantic scenes with Jessica Beil, we were playing ball," Christian explains. "We practiced everyday. It was like going back to high school. It was so much fun. They wouldn't have had to pay me, I've never done a film where I had so much fun."

Part of that fun came from the fact that all the actors who had parts in the flick were his buddies. Marc Blucas and Christian had both gone up for the role of Riley on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Wilmer Valderrama, (Fes on That '70s Show) and Christian are also good pals. In fact, during the filming of Summer Catch in North Carolina, Christian used his musical skills to help Wilmer create a special gift for his girlfriend, Mandy Moore. "It was their one-year anniversary and I wrote a song for Wilmer and I played it for Mandy while Wilmer sang it. She thought it was the best thing in the world," says Christian

On His Summer Catch Character: "Dale Robin is just a country boy. He's just playing baseball. He makes the play and he sleeps with a lot of girls."

On His Life Or Something Like It Character: "He probably didn't have time in school to study because he was too busy playing ball and so he makes some wrong decisions and he says some wrong things. He thinks he's being sweet, some people may say differently."

On Life in LA: "People don't say excuse me when they bump into you here. Everybody in Oklahoma says excuse me when they walk by. It doesn't matter how big you are or how tough you are, there is a butt-kicking coming if you don't. That's what kills me here and why my temper gets away from me sometimes."

Though Catch was a fun movie to film, Christian's favorite role so far is JT Langston. "Every kid dreams of being a cowboy, especially in Oklahoma. And with Crossfire Trail, all of a sudden I had authentic clothes, I'm on a horse, in an authentic town with guns and probably the biggest cowboy in the history of American cowboys, aside from John Wayne, is Tom Selleck. He was so great to work with." And though the cowboy is near and dear to his heart, it's probably not his mom's favorite. "I die in that movie and my mom cries everytime she sees it - and she's probably seen it thirty times."

Having acted in both features and television, Christian prefers features. "You can get into a character and you can get out of it, you know? You don't have to stick around."

No matter what role Christian does on the big or small screen, die-hard fans have noticed a common thread - or should I say bracelet. Christian has managed to wear his silver fleurs-de-lis bracelet in just about every role. He smiles when asked about it, knowing it has captured his fans' imaginations, and is more than willing to share the story. "My mama is from New Orleans and I saw the bracelet and for some reason it reminded me of her," he explains. "Because fleurs-de-lis are French and the New Orleans Saints and all that stuff. I just always think of her when I wear it."
